Joe Bohn, PhD, MBA

Subject matter expertise in public health, healthcare / behavioral health integration; community engagement, community design, opioid crisis / addiction recovery, suicide prevention outreach; and neighborhood revitalization. Worked on projects with veterans/active-duty military/first responders, youth and LGBTQ+ populations affected by social determinants of health challenges.
Joe served as coordinating editor and co-author on six multi-author health policy books between 2011-2016. Since then several academic publications were published in his time on faculty at the University of South Florida. Joe's role for Touchcast Press is management of Publishing Services including contracting, working with authors or author teams, coordinating with book cover designers and copyeditors, regulatory filings, royalty distribution management, and partnerships on promotion support.
Other Experience
8+ years in academia (University of South Florida, College of Public Health) as an assistant/associate professor with administrative rolls in community engagement and deputy doctoral program administration. Taught courses in community program planning and theory to practice. Worked with the veteran’s, faith-based and behavioral health community partners on the opioid crisis and suicide prevention outreach across three counties. Created a new course on Business Planning for Healthcare initiatives for the UofL College of Business.
Past experience also includes six years as an entrepreneur technical writing consultant (KMI Communications, LLC), 3+ years as an analyst for a regional health network, five years in DoD business development, and six years in budgeting and congressional affairs for US Navy in Louisville, KY.
